For many consumers, Bordeaux provides an entry into the world of fine wine: less complicated and capricious than Burgundy, more famous than the Rhone, more readily available-to European consumers at least-than the great wines of California, Bordeaux is a very good place to start. Yet wine consumers sometimes find their high expectations are not met by the product in the glass. Why?
